Job Vacancy –  Exercise Therapist

The MS Therapy Centre is a thriving local charity that provides therapies and support to people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other neurological conditions.

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic Exercise Therapist to join our patient-focused team, supporting people living with neurological conditions including MS and Parkinson’s. To succeed you must have excellent communication skills and a flexible, proactive approach to delivering first class services.

The role involves delivering class based and one to one rehabilitation and general fitness programmes at our purpose-built therapy centre in Bedford. You will engage with our service users to understand their needs and goals and develop bespoke exercise plans to help them meet their realistic personal goals.

You will be required to assist service users in the Centre’s hydrotherapy pool either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups under the supervision of the physios.

Hours                      26 hours/week Monday and Wednesdays 9.30-3.30

         Wednesday and Thursdays 9.30-4.30 with the possibility of  

                               extending to 5 days per week

Place of Work:      MS Therapy Centre, Bedford

Contract Terms:    Permanent role

Qualifications:

·      Degree in Sports and Exercise Therapy or equivalent (Essential) including neurological conditions modules (Preferred)

·      Excellent communication skills (Essential)

·      Experience working with people living with neurological conditions (Preferred)

Salary:  NHS Band 3 role ££22,810 (0-2 years’ experience) - £24,336 (2 + years experience) - pro rata and depending on experience
